Process of pen stock digitization and its importance
Penstock carries the water from source to power house for generation of hydro power. The network of penstock and its health is required to be monitored. Real time monitoring systems and controlling of water flow through the penstock is important for maintaining the desired plant capacity of a hydro power plant. Digitization of the pen stock by GIS is the first step of this project. View it in Baipatra . After digitization the shape files can be used in any platform along with a condition monitoring model for proper maintenance of the "arteries" of the power plant.
